Native Plant Restoration in South Carolina & North Carolina
Clearing land is step one. What you put back determines whether the land recovers or just grows back in weeds. We design and install native plant systems that belong here.
Most land clearing companies stop at clearing. Terra Genesis Forestry goes further. After we remove the invasives and clear the overgrowth, we design and install native plant communities that stabilize the soil, support wildlife, and restore the ecological function that was there before the invasives moved in.
Native plants grown in the Carolina Piedmont are adapted to local soils, local rainfall, and local wildlife. They establish without irrigation, thrive without fertilizer, and support the insects, birds, and mammals that make a property come alive.
What we install:
Native Grasses and Groundcovers — Switchgrass, little bluestem, Eastern gamagrass, and native sedges for field edges, pasture buffers, and open areas.
Native Shrubs — Buttonbush for wet areas, native viburnums for wildlife cover, beautyberry for bird habitat, and native azaleas for understory color.
Native Wildflowers — Ironweed, native coneflowers, black-eyed Susan, native milkweeds, and Joe-pye weed for pollinator habitat and visual impact.
Hardwood Understory — Serviceberry, pawpaw, native plums, and redbud for wildlife food sources and canopy transition zones.
Riparian Buffers — Native plant systems designed specifically for creek banks, pond edges, and drainage corridors — reducing erosion, improving water quality, and creating wildlife corridors.
Longleaf Pine Habitat — For properties in the Sandhills and Coastal Plain we design and install longleaf pine restoration systems including wiregrass groundcover and native wildflower communities.
Our process:
Every native plant restoration project starts with a site assessment. We evaluate your soil type, sun exposure, hydrology, and wildlife goals — then design a plant palette suited to your specific conditions. All installations are preceded by a deposit and a marked aerial map showing exactly where each species goes. No guesswork.
Service area:
Lancaster, York, Chester, Chesterfield, Kershaw, Fairfield, Union, Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Saluda, Sumter, Greenville, and Spartanburg Counties SC — plus Charlotte metro NC.
